Welcome Professors Choi, Garand, and Andrew!

We are pleased to report that Professors Kyoung-Shin Choi, Etienne Garand and Trisha Andrew will be joining our faculty.

All three professors will be arriving in the Fall 2012.

Professor Choi comes to us from Purdue University, where she is currently an Associate Professor in Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry. Professor Garand is currently completing a post doc at Yale Univeristy. Professor Andrew comes to us from MIT where she is currently completing her post doc.

2012 is the sesquicentennial of the Morrill Land-Grant Act. This Act gave federal lands to states as a means to raise money to establish colleges that focus on teaching agriculture, science, and engineering in addition to liberal arts. The American Chemical Society will celebrate this sesquicentennial in 2012 with a retrospective and a prospective look at chemistry.

President Obama named Professor Daniel Fredrickson one of the recipients of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers.
